The older (pre-version 2.1.8) installation procedure is shown in the following
clip from the instructional video packaged with your DVD.
Written instructions are available in the
User manual. We have since begun shipping a new and improved installer that
is much faster and easier to use without instructions. We will post an updated video soon.
These videos will show you how to configure your rides when using an ErgVideo
Training Plan.

Using Training Plans
Deliveries of ErgVideo 2.0 on DVD include the option to copy the
new edition instructional video to your desktop in the basic install sequence.
Respond "yes" to the prompts to do this upon installation. Then you can simply
click the video file-icon to play.
If you have older DVD editions: Insert the DVD. The command
window will open and it will say "hit any key to continue"...type CNTRL-C, and
answer "Y" to "terminate batch job". Now go to "My computer", right click...then
select "explore". It will show all your drives and some special folders. Locate
the icon for your DVD drive and right click...select explore...and next find the
file "instructions.avi". Double left click on that file and windows media player
should open and you will see a 15 minute instructional video. You can copy the
video to your desktop for easier reference. The video covers configuring your CT
software, both Coaching and Multirider, and it shows you how to configure your
first ride and use many of the features of ErgVideo.

USB-Serial Drivers and Vista & XP
The Sewell USB-Serial adapters are based on Prolific chipsets and require
drivers by Prolific. The versions currently provided by Windows Update and
Sewell have proven to be flawed on Vista and even XP systems. We strongly
recommend direct 9-pin serial port connection or FTDI-based USB-serial adapters
(such
as available here) for use with Vista. Unlike Prolific,
FTDIchip is providing excellent drivers even for 64-bit systems
(Vista and XP) and they seem better positioned to support cable manufacturers in
the future.
If you stick with the Sewell cables, for Windows XP, we recommend the
Prolific latest driver for use with Prolific chip based USB-Serial
Adapters.
Likewise for Windows Vista,
RacerMate provides older but working Prolific/Sewell drivers which can
be installed on Vista to work with your Sewell cable. These may be better than the drivers at the prolific site.
Update: It appears prolific has expanded their driver library to Vista 64 and Windows 7. After many years of disappointing performance, we cannot
vouch for the quality or efficacy of these new drivers. Please consult RacerMate or simply get FTDI devices.

troubles
After you have installed correct USB-Serial drivers (!!) and looked for an
answer to your problem in the many resources provided here and
on our forum, try calling or emailing the ErgVideo brain-trust.
