Before you upgrade to ErgVideo 2 Read This FIRST!!!(Click me)

Did you click it? Did you read it? All of it? Good. Now enter the Serial Number of any ErgVideo you own, and your e-mail address. Upon validation, a download button will appear. We recommend you save the file to your hard disk, and then double click the file to install. If you have ErgVideo running you must terminate it before installing a new version.

Please use Internet Explorer 7 or 8, or Google Chrome for downloads, or Firefox 2.x. Firefox 3.x has a major FAIL which causes downloads to fail. Here is a write-up and how to fix it on your system.

Updated RacerMate Software is required:

If you use CompCS ("Coaching Software") when running ErgVideo, you MUST, without exception, use CompCS version 1.6 or higher. ErgVideo 2 uses functionality present in CompCS 1.6 which is not present in earlier versions, and older versions of CompCS are NOT SUPPORTED. The latest CompCS is available from Racermate here. Velotron CS Beta (1.6) is required by Velotron users. Multirider 3 or Multirider 2009 is required by MultiRider configurations.

USB-Serial port adapters:

ErgVideo 2 uses new functionality which may expose an bug in the Prolific USB-Serial adapter drivers. If you have an adapter which uses Prolific drivers (this includes the common Sewell cable) you need to install a working driver. It's really worthwhile, since it will make all of your RacerMate software run much more smoothly and trouble free. Perhaps you have had an intermittent error that happens rarely? This is a common manifestation of the problem we are talking about, and it has nothing to do with the quality of the RacerMate software, which is mature and robust. It happens equally on XP and Vista!

We strongly recommend direct 9-pin serial port connection or FTDI-based USB-serial adapters (such as available here or direct from Racermate as a CT specific part here). Unlike Prolific, FTDIchip is providing excellent drivers for all Windows versions including 64-bit systems (Vista and XP) and they seem better positioned to support cable manufacturers in the future.

If you stick with the Sewell/Prolific cables, for Windows XP, we recommend you try the Prolific drivers here, See "Install USB-Serial Drivers" on the Support page.

Likewise for Windows Vista, RacerMate's Website recommends excellent working Prolific/Sewell drivers which can be installed on Vista to work with your Sewell cable. For video instructions on how to get this done, see "Install USB-Serial Drivers" on the Support page. Your best bet, however, is an FTDI device.

Update from RacerMate: RacerMate now has a custom FTDI-based USB adapter. It ships standard with all RacerMate trainers as of Jan. 2009. Though it also appears Prolific has expanded their driver library to Vista 64 and Windows 7, after many years of disappointing performance from Prolific/Sewell, we cannot vouch for the quality or efficacy of these new drivers. Please consult with RacerMate about this and their new FTDI USB adapter if in doubt what direction to take.

Version 2.1.8 is proven by ErgVideo Inc. to operate with Multirider III, MR2009 beta, and CompCS 1.6, Velotron CS Beta (1.6) most recent versions, installed as above.
