Codecs
Codecs: Short form for "Coder Decoder", in this context it's an add-on piece for your computer's video playback system.
We'll offer ErgVideos in either .avi (MS-MPEG4v2) to allow operation on lower-end PC's, or .wmv format for a few titles. You definitely have a .wmv codec, since it's Microsoft Windows standard.
You can configure Windows Media Player to automatically download Codecs. Instructions here.
It's not certain that the most efficient codec will be loaded, however. We've found that the CompuTrainer software requires unnecessarily high processor utilization, and thus an efficient codec (one that uses very little processor power) to run video at the same time, is required.
We've found that the FFDshow codec is excellent in this regard. Download and install it from here. Install with default settings. Try the test video to see if you have the right codec installed.
